Of course, implementing this isn't easy. You need to first develop your stories, then decide on how you're going to convey those stories and at what drip-rate. For example, your first email or two might go out on the day they first signup, then one email per day might go out afterwards. How much of that will be story-based and how much will be pitches?
It’s super refreshing to see a platform with some new pages, kind of reminds me of Unbounce. As you can see in the image above, their range of page designs are quite vast (this is only for Opt Ins) and can be used in a number of ways. While they may not look as sexy as LeadPages landing pages right off the bat, at the end of the day all that matters is the conversion rates.
The image above is a glimpse at one of my webinars that I created in LeadPages. I embedded my live webinar presentation into a webinar template in LeadPages and also added a chat box (not pictured) below the webinar so that attendees could communicate and ask questions. Webinar software can be very pricy, but this solution allows you to do them nearly for free by embedding a live Google Hangouts broadcast. LeadPages is a great option for anyone getting started with webinars.
Hey Matt! Thanks for this article, it was super helpful! I tried to scroll through some of the comments, but figured I should just shoot you a message. There weren’t a ton of B2C examples in your list and was hoping you had some more up your sleeve. I just launched my company, Make It Hapin, and I’m living on a prayer haha. My finances are limited so my ability to pay for ads in order to test possible funnels is very limited but I’m trying. Make It Hapin is a personalized shopping service designed to help you recreate inspiration images you see on Pinterest and Instagram. The struggle is figuring out a way to get people to remember us while they’re swiping through their feeds. Anyway, I’ve included my website…I’d love it if you could take a look!
When it comes to Backpack, you are definitely not short of useful marketing features either! Backpack, put simply, is a native application which is used for managing affiliate marketing processes. Backpack allows you to seamlessly integrate affiliate programs into sales funnels, giving you enhanced power and information. With Backpack, you can effectively view your affiliate progress, view your individual affiliate profile, assess your due payments, set up commission plans and tiers, and manage your affiliate funnels.
Valued at $9770, the Funnel Hacks System is a training program style to stroll you through the entire funnel building procedure and guide you to creating effective funnels for whatever marketing purpose you can think of. When you avail of this offer, you do not just get training for ClickFunnels, but a full access to ClickFunnels Etison suite as well.
Of course, some of you are makers and originators and you really want to build your own thing and that's totally fine. I would just say, make sure you adhere to direct response principles and philosophies when it comes to creating your funnels, that is something that's super easy, but the best way, as Russell Bronson of ClickFunnels, he's the founder of ClickFunnels and DotComSecrets. He's a big proponent of what we call funnel hacking. Funnel hacking is something also that I've written about on my blog. As a matter of fact, I'm hoping this link works. Yeah. GroovyMarketing.biz/funnelhacking. I've created a funnel hacking playbook.
Only ask for the information they need. The more fields you ask visitors to fill out in your form, the less chance you have of them completing your offer. If your conversion requires a form, get the bare minimum of what you need – you can always ask for more info on the thank you page once the deed is done. While most users don’t have a problem providing their name and email address, asking for info about phone numbers and date of birth can cause your drop off rate to skyrocket to 50%. The rule of thumb is not to include more than seven fields in your lead gen form on your landing page.
Marketing your website is a complex process. As SEO becomes increasingly difficult and Social Media becomes increasingly time-consuming, nothing could be more important than spending time mapping out your very own “Content Marketing Sales Funnel.” In this post, I’ll walk you through the essential steps for building an online sales funnel to help you convert more of your tire-kickers into happy, repeat customers with massive Lifetime Customer Value. And, while I’m at it, I’m going to show you more pictures of funnels than you’ll probably ever see again. 🙂 Let’s get started…
It’s also an e-commerce platform that allows you to sell subscription products, build membership sites (for your online course or whatever), opt-in pages, or e-commerce sites. It’s brilliant for multi-level sales pages, because it has upsells, downsells, cross-sells, offer pages, and offer bumps that are automatically built in with its sales funnel templates.
Corporations and businesses are all looking for organic growth, to increase market share, effectively deal with low price competitors, increase closing averages, and retain top talent (SAP study shows that cost of losing your top sales person is 700K). The key is to do all this within a process that can be repeated and held accountable from the any position of the sales organization. The Sales Funnel can help you achieve these goals. This is a very important part in measuring conversion and will play a big role in how widespread the templates are used so they don’t become saturated. Personally, one of the only drawbacks (if you could even call it a drawback) to LeadPages is that they were so good, that now most well known (and even novice) internet marketers are using the platform for Facebook Ads left right and center.
You could create a much simpler one, like say an email opt-in page (perfect if you just want to build an email list in exchange for something like a free downloadable checklist) in a couple days. But I decided to get ambitious and try selling a health supplement product right off the bat. That ended up being quite the endeavor as I hired someone to create a Facebook ad campaign for me to actually drive traffic TO the funnel. Ah yes, this is a very important part of what happens AFTER your funnel is complete. But you’ll get there.
By now, your customers trust you (as they should!). They’ve received all the benefits from the top of the funnel (the freebie they registered for on your website), and the middle of the funnel (be it emails with great content from you or otherwise), and they have some sense of who you are as a person. This is where you ask for the sale (hello, bottom of your funnel!). You want to continue to engage, of course, but you also want to offer something of even more value to your customers.
“The main headline copy is short and persuasive with the sub-head doing the heavy lifting (at the risk of sounding clickbaity). The color and font of the CTA feels right and there aren’t too many CTAs to distract the visitor. Social proof with logos is good but can extend it by adding testimonials from real users. The body text explains the benefits but can be broken down into sections to have a better flow. Finally, the difference between a good first impression and a great one boils down to subtler aspects. Use logos with better resolution!”
We can’t stress this enough—the biggest challenge for a sales rep is to be able to identify qualified sales leads. Experienced sales reps probably know how to qualify their leads over time, and therefore effectively work on the right opportunities. But for the rest of them, this is still a burning issue. The struggle to pick out qualified leads in the funnel forces sales reps to chase them all. The result—getting nowhere.
For content based on Niche website, I’ve been able to setup a membership site for my contractors so they can login and see what I expect out of them when they work on my sites. It’s a crucial part of my business. While I could setup a password protected page for them on my site if I chose, I personally like having a separate site that provides easy to use instructions that cover ALL of my online properties, and not just one specific website.
Sales funnels are important so that you stay focused on carrying out the right sales activities at the right time in the prospect relationship. If you’re in the Awareness phase, you are engaging in prospecting or lead generation activities. If you’re in the Evaluation phase, you are sending your customers quotes or proposals so they can evaluate their options and ultimately make a purchase. Sales funnels serve as reminders of what needs to be done and when.
With ClickFunnels, users are treated to a a variety of pre-built sales funnels and all they have to do is choose the one that matches their business requirements. Selling a subscription and peddling an e-book may be similar in terms of them trying to make a sale, but they need to be handled differently. ClickFunnels saves you the time and effort to start organizing your sales funnels from scratch and speeds up your sales funnel setup.
Cons: The membership area functionality isn't as great as other solutions, but I understand they are focused on being the best funnel software, not the best membership site software. If they upgrade their membership area and email / list marketing features, I would move everything onto clickfunnels. That would be dream, rather than integrating clickfunnels with an email tool and membership tool. I know they're working on improving these solutions and I'm looking forward to this software becoming that much more amazing.
Match the corresponding ad text. Great landing pages use the same keywords from the PPC ad text – the connection should be obvious and the continuity reassures visitors that they’re on the right path. Don’t send someone to a page about camping tents if your ad was about sleeping bags. And don’t send them to a generic page and make them search for the product they were looking for.
This is one of my favorite things about LeadPages. For most people, designing a lead magnet landing page on their website is difficult because then you’d have to mess with the coding on your site and could potentially break something. LeadPages makes it mega easy. They have about a zillion different templates you can customize to create landing page opt-in forms, like this one:
Actionetics is ClickFunnels’ email automation application, designed to be used in conjunction with ClickFunnels. When it comes to Actionetics, you are spoiled for choice when it comes to functions. For example, you can use Actionetics to create an autoresponder, to create email lists, to make email sequences, to segment/organize contacts with tags, and to construct action funnels in accordance with certain internal/external triggers.
You can configure the lead scoring rules to match your ideal buyer persona by simply adding or subtracting points for the lead property. For example, if your business is purely local, then for a lead to become your customer the minimum criteria is to be within your service area. Add 20 points. If the lead doesn’t belong to an industry you serve, subtract 10 points. In addition to that, you can also customize scores for email, application and web activity. Bring everything together, and you have a list of hot, warm and cold leads in the sales funnel for your sales reps to focus and close more deals faster.
If I was just starting out I would recommend starting with LeadPages so you have pre-made designs which are less customizable so you can get your head around what’s going on. But if you’ve had a bit of experience or are in the more advanced level, then I think getting a mid ranged ClickFunnels plan would be more appropriate. Either way, I don’t think you should cancel one account before the other, until you have had some time to play around and try them both out.
I'm not sure how the algorithm works (or if there's one at all), but while I was filling it out, I had some anxiety about not qualifying. Once I found out I did, I was excited to fill out the form, which I'm sure most people who are in debt and using this tool are. By making this offer seem more exclusive before the form appeared on the landing page, I'd bet that Bills.com increased conversions pretty significantly.
I'm going to show you some examples of just really kind of the fire power that ClickFunnels brings to the table. What you're seeing here is literally the inside of my ClickFunnels account and just real fast, I want to just scroll down and let you see the kind of activity that I create inside my ClickFunnels account. These are all active or semi-active funnels that I use on a weekly basis for my business. You might be wondering, "Well, Josh, what do you do for business?" And I do a few things. I have a few streams of revenue, if you will, businesses. One would be SalesFunnelMadness.com, which is right here. I talk about ClickFunnels, I talk about building sales funnels and I help people build their sales funnels.
Unique visitors instead of total visits — If you're counting every visit in the denominator of the equation, you're including return visits too. This doesn't make sense if someone can only convert once (e.g. signup for an account). Consider how they might check out the site a few times before converting. If so, don't let that deflate your conversion metric. Instead, count the unique number of visitors in any given period. And make your period at least as long as the average time it takes for someone to convert after first visiting your site.
You also have your email integration for your email service provider of choice. That's where all of this lives. For instance, I can choose my MailChimp account here or my Actionetics account, again, that's part of the Etison Suite that I was mentioning. I have the Etison Suite for everything that I do. And then the way the screen or the pages are constructed are in three or four, technically, but really three different ways. You've got sections, which, if you see my mouse hovering here, you can see the light, see phone green, these are the sections. Then you have rows, which are the blue that you see here, and you've got elements inside of rows and they're the orange elements.
Unfortunately, most people instinctively distrust marketing material. Generally speaking, most marketers tell the story that puts their offer in the best possible light. After all, marketers make money off of telling people their product is great. Maybe your offer is as good as you say it is, but it’s hard to believe someone who gets paid to talk about how awesome their offer is.
They don't all work, but as Mark Cuban says "You only have to be right once". Clickfunnels pricing turns out to be well worth it in my opinion. I've paid Russel Brunson and his team $297 per month for three years now. THREE YEARS! I don't regret it one bit. Have you invested in Clickfunnels yet? Are you growing your business or side hustle? Take action and execute. That's the most important thing I can say in this entire post.
When it comes to Backpack, you are not short of useful marketing features either! Backpack is a native application that you can use it for managing affiliate marketing processes. The backpack allows you to seamlessly integrate affiliate programs into sales funnels, giving you enhanced power and information. With Backpack, you can effectively view your affiliate progress, see your affiliate profile, assess your due payments, set up commission plans and tiers, and manage your affiliate funnels.
Bring your favorite choice of conversion pages together with your favorite autoresponder. With this Zapier connection, you can seamlessly turn conversions from your Leadpages landing pages into new subscribers for your Sendlane account. Create and set up full automation sequences in your Sendlane account ready to trigger from the new conversions that your Leadpages account will capture.
There are email warming sequences that include things like personalized value-driven stories, tutorials and even soft pushes to webinars, and of course product suggestions that happen over days or even weeks. The truth is that most prospects won't buy from your website at first glance, especially if they're only just becoming aware of you today. It takes time. Thus, the funnel is a multi-modality process, as there are a variety of relationship-building experiences and "touches" that occur through several stages.
