Not quite. Double opt-in is a function offered by most third-party email service providers (ESP) and enables marketers to send an email after a visitor has signed up, inviting the visitor to confirm his/her email address and consent to receive further email communications. Under the terms of the GDPR, double opt-in is generally not an acceptable means of obtaining active consent. Because exceptions to this rule do exist in certain cases, we recommend you first seek legal counsel to help craft the necessary compliance statements necessary to deploy double opt-ins.

Unique visitors instead of total visits — If you're counting every visit in the denominator of the equation, you're including return visits too. This doesn't make sense if someone can only convert once (e.g. signup for an account). Consider how they might check out the site a few times before converting. If so, don't let that deflate your conversion metric. Instead, count the unique number of visitors in any given period. And make your period at least as long as the average time it takes for someone to convert after first visiting your site.

Hi Willie. You make some very good points, and yes they are not exactly the same as ClickFunnels is capable of doing much more. I just put LeadPages (and Samcart) in there because they are both popular and there is some overlap with ClickFunnels (lead generation & checkout pages). So I just wanted to put them in for comparison purposes for people who might want just those specific capabilities, and not the whole kitchen sink that ClickFunnels provides.
If your landing page is tied to an email campaign, make sure that the landing page echoes the look and feel of the email. If the designs of the two are wildly different, your landing page visitors may wonder if they’ve ended up in the right place. The easiest way to do this is to carry over fonts, images, and colors from your email to your landing page.
For example, at the beginning of the sales funnel, prospect interaction is low and the number of prospects is high. This is the awareness stage where you do advertising or another form of low-cost, low-touch, broad outreach. The next stages have fewer people in them and require activities that take more time and attention. Include more than one call to action (CTA) on your website. Chances are that your website visitors will be at different stages of the customer journey. Some might be ready to call or email while others might be researching. Make sure to include offers like free eBooks or whitepapers to capture names and email addresses for those who aren't quite ready to talk to your sales team.

As a software engineer myself, I can tell you that building funnels from an application standpoint takes massive amounts of work. There's a great deal of coding and integration that's required here. From email systems to landing page implementations to credit card processing APIs, and everything in between, so many platforms need to "talk," that it takes the bar too high for the average marketer.

I have no alternative but to uninstall the plugins and go with another unless the developer “sees the light” and decides to create some simple directions and figure out how to keep the help videos on the dashboard page. The developer would have seen a much larger response to selling premium if the free versions atleast worked or just answer support. I see this alot when dealing with wordpress developers and I could never figure out why!
This is the stage where growth hacking, not to be confused with funnel hacking, comes into play. The purpose of the refinement or growth hacking stage is to analyze funnel results at each impression point to determine where you're losing customers. You will find customers dropping off at multiple points. Recognize the most critical points, prioritize and attack there first. Make changes and move forward, continuing to observe and accept that this stage has no end game. The quest for improved conversions requires continual analysis, refinement and experimentation.

This page also happens to be their home page, so there are options for “Download,” “Sign Up” and “Log In” in the header (and that’s ignoring all of the clickable elements in the footer!). All of these options make it hard to know exactly what you are supposed to do on this page. In fact, if you scroll below the fold, you may not even be sure what you’re signing up for.
Cons: The customer support has gotten worse recently. They used to have live chat on their site, now they use some weird ticketing software that I do not like. I will say this, there support is very good but a lot slower than I'd like. When they do get back to me, it typically solved my problem immediately. But sometimes it takes a full day or more for them to respond. This can be valuable lost time for a business, especially if you're running ads to a page that stops working.
