Much of this is steeped in buyer psychology. The best marketers in the world know that there is a psychological process that must occur for prospects to whip out those credit cards and turn into buyers or even hyper-active buyers. One such person whose perfected this process is Russell Brunson, an "underground entrepreneur" who founded a company called ClickFunnels, a sales funnel SaaS business that empowers marketers from around the world to build marketing automation without all the hassle.
Actionetics is ClickFunnels’ e-mail automation application which is native to ClickFunnels. Producing e-mails and messages are facilitated with the e-mail builder which has a nearly similar characteristic to the funnel builder. Another cool aspect of Actionetics is its Action Funnels function. Action Funnels let you hyper-segment contacts to set off specific actions whether it is internal or external. Internal actions consist of being eliminated to an email list, added to email list, etc. External actions include being able to get email series.
Pinterest’s approach is different in that they don’t spend much time explaining what Pinterest is, since they can assume most people have already heard of them. Instead, a different example of Pinterest’s value is shown with each visit to the site, with a broader explanation of Pinterest (find and save all the things that inspire you) that sits below the main headline. What is Pinterest doing right here?
Got it. Thanks Pete. You might like to know we’re updating our 6-Figure Funnel training right now to tailor it one version of it to product businesses, and the other version to professional service companies like your’s. We’ve also relaunched our free sales funnel checklist w/ video training. You can pop-in your email address to get that on this page.
You also have your email integration for your email service provider of choice. That's where all of this lives. For instance, I can choose my MailChimp account here or my Actionetics account, again, that's part of the Etison Suite that I was mentioning. I have the Etison Suite for everything that I do. And then the way the screen or the pages are constructed are in three or four, technically, but really three different ways. You've got sections, which, if you see my mouse hovering here, you can see the light, see phone green, these are the sections. Then you have rows, which are the blue that you see here, and you've got elements inside of rows and they're the orange elements.
Follow-up with a thank you page. The thank-you page is a great way to guide visitors to other related material on your website that they may be interested in. Providing this added info in the initial landing page would have been distracting and could have led visitors away from making a conversion. However, now that you’ve sealed the deal, the thank-you page is the perfect place to suggest related products, guides and information your audience may find helpful, or links to other parts of your site, such as your company blog.
Interior design books will often suggest different colors for various rooms and moods – energizing red for a dining room to inspire dynamic conversation, yellow for a cheerful, relaxed kitchen. This same color theory should be implemented into your site design. Many marketers claim that certain button colors like green or red increase landing page conversions, but ultimately you want to focus on the contrast of the button color in relation to your background color. Paul Olyslager has a nice guide on CTA buttons worth checking out. Test various colors, placements, and sizes to see what works!
But, given the volume of leads that fill your funnel, sales teams have a hard time converting leads into customers because they cannot discern the hot from the cold. This results in unqualified hot leads in the top of the funnel that either drop out due to slow response times, or remain stuck in the middle of the funnel eventually becoming cold leads. For a business this means missing out on golden ($) opportunities. And, that’s just one leak. There are more ways you lose leads in the sales funnel.
What are landing pages? A landing page is the page a visitor arrives at on your website after clicking an ad (for example, a Google text ad or display ad). Inexperienced marketers often direct all of their PPC traffic to their homepage, but this can be a big mistake. Specific landing pages tailored to different offers are essential for providing a quality experience for visitors and driving conversions with a targeted message that matches each user’s need.

“Andrew Chen’s site is minimalist in nature; he knows the focus of the site is on content, social proof, and of course to get people to sign up for his newsletter which is the main conversion goal. However, the layout is not making use of the real estate above the fold as it should be. Elements like narrow text margin, a lack of vertical alignment, unclear

’s, and misuse of whitespace can harm conversion rates if used incorrectly.”
Actionetics is ClickFunnels’ email automation software, designed to be used in conjunction with ClickFunnels. When it comes to Actionetics, you are spoiled for choice when it comes to functions. For example, you can use Actionetics to create an autoresponder, to create email lists, to make email sequences, to segment/organize contacts with tags, and to construct action funnels following certain internal/external triggers.
So, with all that said, as you can see, that Funnel Hacks is a pretty amazing deal. “There’s more bad than good about this page unfortunately. As soon as you load it, you have a clear headline, which leads into a clear description, and a call to action. Great. However, the video lacks subtitles, and there’s no way to see how long it is. It’s not a particularly exciting and engaging video, it doesn’t tell me too much about what I’ll get, it’s more about them.
But with ClickFunnels I’ve submitted 3 tickets with at least a combined 800 words of suggestions and bugs and each time was responded back in 12 hours with a name behind the computer who I can actually reach out to. They also went above and beyond telling me xxx programmer and xxx designer are working on the issue and other users have faced the same ones.
Businesses built around one or two customers that aren’t looking expand should focus on building out the loyalty phase of the sales funnel. However, a CRM is best for managing the customer’s journey for businesses that want to create the best possible experience during each stage of the process in order to increase your number of sales, as they provide tools to help you automate and scale your sales funnel activities.
Cons: It is soooo expensive. There is no option to have a true website, you basically have to create each page separately and connect them which, there is no easy way to do. Also, I found that the cloud platform they host on would often crash and send my users and error message. Builderall has all the same stuff for way cheaper http://bit.ly/CheapCF
Before I go much further, it's important to note that we are comparing two similar solutions, but by no means are they exact matches. However, there are plenty of overlaps that can confuse a good buying  decision. That’s why I’ve spent so much time and effort on this Clickfunnels Review. I want my readers and audience to get an exhaustive look on the sales funnel tools of choice and how they can best benefit.

This is not something I’ve tried, but I have seen others use it successfully. I’m sure you’ve seen this before! Basically, you can have someone text a certain word or phrase to a specific number. They’ll receive a text telling them to respond with their email address and then once they do, they’ll be subscribed! This has a number of really neat uses, like:
Once the prospect is in the proverbial funnel, you've peaked their awareness. That's the first stage of the funnel. However, getting a prospect aware of you is no simple feat. Depending upon how they've arrived to your website (organically or through a paid ad), those customers might view your funnel differently and your opt-in rates will vary significantly.
A sales funnel illustrates your customer’s journey and works by increasing the level of engagement and trust in each interaction with your prospect. It typically contains six stages, starting with awareness and ending with loyal customers. Each stage has more meaningful activities than the last. While not all prospects will reach the end of the funnel, those who do are actively engaged and therefore more serious about buying your product or service.
Landing pages, on the other hand, are perfectly suited to content that’s shorter. They also have the advantage of only having to load once, which can be a big consideration for companies targeting people in rural areas or developing nations, where bandwidth and connection speeds could be an issue. The downside to landing pages is that they can get overwhelming with a lot of content, and can come across as spammy if not well-designed.
Now, as a marketing consultant who works with hundreds of active small business owners, I’ve built my entire business using the Clickfunnels platform. It’s worked so well, and my passion for helping business owners make more money faster, I’ve started an exclusive Sales Funnel Mastermind for twelve, motivated entrepreneurs per year. You can learn more about my “inner circle” at this page (BTW, I built it in Clickfunnels).
Take it one step further and break your marketing improvements down into stages. Perhaps your first stage of improvements is to enhance the conversion path on your website by offering a free eBook or free consultation to your site visitors. Once you feel confident that you can capture lead information, you might be ready to invest in additional marketing efforts to attract new visitors to your site.
When a prospect converts on your first page, they can be segmented and directed to targeted pages to further drive them through your sales channel. They work because, well, contrary to what some inbound marketers believe - not every customer is ready and willing to buy from you or register for your event immediately after they’ve clicked on your PPC or social ad.

OK, ok…that said, it may take you awhile to get acquainted and comfortable with all the Clickfunnels features — there are a lot of details you’ll have to figure out once your sales funnel is built. Things like what domain you’re going to assign it to (you can buy one for an easy $20 through Clickfunnels or attach it to an existing domain), your SEO data, if you’re going to integrate it with your email platform, creating split test pages, testing your live funnel, etc, etc.
Here’s an example. To create your prospect experience in the Awareness stage, think about and articulate what you will do or say to your prospects when you first meet them. Then think about how your interaction will make them feel. Consider your prospects and their needs as you’re doing this. Then, document your actions and your prospect’s experience for this stage. Repeat this throughout the entire sales funnel.

At the top of the funnel, no one knows who you are — sure, maybe your mom and a few potential customers know you, but the point of this stage is to get your name out there. You want to create buzz around your product or simply credibility around your brand. This is where you want to spend some time thinking about your personal brand. I’ve helped countless entrepreneurs go from bland to brand on the Internet, and let me tell you, it’s a game of followers, social media influence, and massive online publishing (be it articles like this one and otherwise). Some have even brought on our publicist as a way to get TV placements.

Testing can be conducted sequentially or in parallel. In sequential testing, often the easiest to implement, the various versions of the webpages are made available online for a specified time period. In parallel (split) testing, both versions are made available, and the traffic is divided between the two. The results of sequential split testing can be skewed by differing time periods and traffic patterns in which the different tests are run.
In fact, by the time a potential customer actually reaches out to a person in your organization, 70% of the decision-making process will already have taken place. Puts into perspective why you need to have online and website-based tools to act as proxies! (See Why ZMOT is Relevant for B2B Marketing: 4 Data-Based Reasons and Inbound Marketing and ZMOT: Perfect Together?)
Using activity schedulers is another way to manage prospects through a sales funnel. Activity schedulers allow you to schedule sales activities and incorporate them into your calendar. Doing this helps you focus on prospect engagement activities that are most likely to move them through the sales cycle. They are also a tool to help remember to carry out these activities.
The header must be fully descriptive of what you're selling. Because, if the visitor doesn't understand exactly what you do immediately upon landing, they'll either bounce out of laziness or skim-read the rest of the page until they get the gist. Once they get that gist, they'll likely bounce anyway because they're still too lazy to re-read the page from the beginning.
When it comes to Backpack, you are not short of useful marketing features either! Backpack is a native application that you can use it for managing affiliate marketing processes. The backpack allows you to seamlessly integrate affiliate programs into sales funnels, giving you enhanced power and information. With Backpack, you can effectively view your affiliate progress, see your affiliate profile, assess your due payments, set up commission plans and tiers, and manage your affiliate funnels.
Hi Matt, a really great article which pulls out many strengths. I’m a wedding photographer and I’m researching new ways to funnel visitors by their current; challenges, position in planning their wedding and then addressing short term buyers vs longer cycle buyers who are researching etc. Do you have any advice or examples which could be useful even if a different industry? Thanks Pete
