They’re sort of a combination of lead generation and direct sales landing pages. Their purpose is to warm leads through a sales funnel directly on your site. They keep visitors clicking through and converting as you guide them through your on-site sales path. You don’t necessarily need a personalized, segmented email automation campaign you might implement with lead generation (or a dropped sales cart).
Pinterest’s approach is different in that they don’t spend much time explaining what Pinterest is, since they can assume most people have already heard of them. Instead, a different example of Pinterest’s value is shown with each visit to the site, with a broader explanation of Pinterest (find and save all the things that inspire you) that sits below the main headline. For example, an ecommerce site might model their visitors in a funnel, and identify that there is a large dropoff in users between visiting the shopping cart and actually completing the transaction. Using this data, the company can then form hypothesis as to why this is the case and test ideas for improving conversion rate, such as reducing form fields, establishing trust with seals, or offering limited time offers.
Now I know you might think, this is the whole reason the software was created so you can see who’s moving through the funnel. But LeadPages could have definitely implemented a simple system where they could link up funnels in the same way (and probably will in the near future). It makes it super straight forward to see which funnel is working and which parts of your funnel need tweaking.
1. What is the goal? In an ideal world, what would visitors do upon reaching your landing page? Would they buy something? Fill out a form? Sign up for a newsletter? Download an ebook? Toss aside their keyboard, break out a harmonica, and play a sweet blues rift? The first step for any strategy is determining goals. (You have to define conversions before you can track conversions.)

Cons: The membership area functionality isn't as great as other solutions, but I understand they are focused on being the best funnel software, not the best membership site software. If they upgrade their membership area and email / list marketing features, I would move everything onto clickfunnels. That would be dream, rather than integrating clickfunnels with an email tool and membership tool. I know they're working on improving these solutions and I'm looking forward to this software becoming that much more amazing.
“The main headline copy is short and persuasive with the sub-head doing the heavy lifting (at the risk of sounding clickbaity). The color and font of the CTA feels right and there aren’t too many CTAs to distract the visitor. Social proof with logos is good but can extend it by adding testimonials from real users. The body text explains the benefits but can be broken down into sections to have a better flow. Finally, the difference between a good first impression and a great one boils down to subtler aspects. Use logos with better resolution!”
There’s a better solution: Build out an automated email follow-up campaign that speaks directly to this objection. Any time you encounter this problem, you can send that prospect information that seems designed just for them. A multi-month educational campaign may reduce their content anxiety and nurture them toward a sale. Yes, it’s work up front, but once finished, this campaign will work for you always.
