On MailChimp’s pricing page, the focus is on getting you signed up for free, with an email, username, and password. They want to get you up and running and start using the product as soon as possible. They hope you will help them market themselves by using their products and spreading MailChimp further. Email marketing is often a one-too-many communication platform. The more you use it, the more likely you are to upgrade.
Believe it or not, this works and everyday I see new subscribers sharing my opt-in form. Imagine if 10 people subscribed and you didn’t have a page like this. Well…then 10 people would have subscribed and that would be the end of that. BUT…if you have a viral sharing page, like the one above, then those 10 people could very well share it with all of their followers, resulting in more and more subscribers to your list. It’s pretty rad, y’all.
You can change the name to your company name or your product name or say 'hi' to your prospect, whatever it is. The rest of the stuff is very useful. The page description and keywords, very useful in SEO, if you are paying attention to SEO, but most people using ClickFunnels aren't overly concerned with SEO because they're driving traffic with either JV, Joint Venture Partners or affiliate partners who have email lists, or they're driving traffic with Google AdWords or Facebook Ads, something like that.
Depending on your business and industry, you could have 1,000 prospects at the top of your funnel. However, towards the end of your funnel, you may have 25 prospects. While these 25 prospects are more likely to convert than the ones at the top of the sales funnel, at the very end, there may only be five customers who’ve made a purchase and only two that are repeat customers.
When you NURTURE prospects, you give them what they need to grow strong and healthy. Obviously not every prospect will grow into a “Lifetime Customer” regardless of what you do. That’s just the nature of lists, email marketing, and all the rest. Still, it’s so important to remember that a list of 100,000 weak and “under nurtured” prospects will never stand up against a list of just 100 “strong and healthy” prospects.
Just found your post in my study of sales funnels. You bring the heart to it. This is really the missing link to online success. Thank you for explaining it so easily. Am not compelled to download the free traffic course because I can imagine the quality of info it would have not to mention returning to the site to have my buffer on other interesting content. Thanks.
Inside of each of these you can quite literally edit everything. I can double click here, I can bold, I can unbold, all that good stuff. You can open the gearshift or the gear mechanism icon and over here you can do all your editing, you can choose fonts, you can choose sizes, spacing. You can do everything. The flexibility offered by ClickFunnels is unmatched. Then you can hit preview and then in your preview screen you can see your live page. You'll know, if you do sign up for ClickFunnels under my affiliate link, this is my email address for unlimited support and also that's how you can access the bonuses that are provide, just by simply emailing me and saying, "Hey buddy, give me the bonuses you promised me." And then I will email those back to you. I've got a special members area that, again, I've built inside of ClickFunnels because you can build membership funnels, membership platforms, inside of ClickFunnels. It's really awesome and very powerful as well.
If you really want to learn more about Clickfunnels and the magic sauce behind how online funnels work, I strongly recommend reading Russel Brunson’s work — even if you don’t end up getting Clickfunnels for your business, this book is a must-read. It is jam-packed full of best practices, insider tips and more on how Brunson (the Founder of Clickfunnels) built his multi-million dollar funnel empire. I strongly recommend it.
Much of this is steeped in buyer psychology. The best marketers in the world know that there is a psychological process that must occur for prospects to whip out those credit cards and turn into buyers or even hyper-active buyers. One such person whose perfected this process is Russell Brunson, an "underground entrepreneur" who founded a company called ClickFunnels, a sales funnel SaaS business that empowers marketers from around the world to build marketing automation without all the hassle.
Pros: Funnels involve many moving parts, pages, and pieces. Having designed these for years myself, I expected Clickfunnels to be another newbie tool, but it's so so much more. You can easily set up funnels for specific markets, tying them together and tracking in a way that's visual (not Kanban, but close) and easy to understand. Instead of complex interfaces, you have an easy step by step way to get things going quickly. As an experienced user, I was impressed by the value this delivers for people regardless of skill set. There's so many smart elements - for example, preview your page and it shows you the version regardless of cache, so you're not stuck emptying your browser. Few years ago this would have cost you thousands to set up individually, and left you needing tech assistance. Clickfunnels eliminates that and makes it so even a beginner can use this tool.
I’m using both Leadpages and Clickfunnels. I really like click funnel because I can create the entire funnel including one time offers and the really nice order form. One thing I’m really struggling with is that there membership function is so basic it’s almost unusable for me, and there’s no way to integrate with a more sophisticated membership site plug-in or system.

Landing page optimization (LPO) is one part of a broader Internet marketing process called conversion optimization, or conversion rate optimization (CRO), with the goal of improving the percentage of visitors to the website that become sales leads and customers. A landing page is a webpage that is displayed when a potential customer clicks an advertisement or a search engine result link. This webpage typically displays content that is a relevant extension of the advertisement or link. LPO aims to provide page content and appearance that makes the webpage more appealing to target audiences.
Adopting a CRM positively impacts sales teams’ performance. But, what most users miss to realize is that CRM software is not just a customer database; it’s also the most beneficial tool for managing the sales funnel and pipeline. CRM helps you define your sales process, identify leaks in the sales funnel, and streamline the conversion process to bring leads down to the bottom of the funnel.
This is a great addition which Leadpages and ClickFunnels both offer to all their accounts. It makes lead magnets super easy to use and works a charm when you are using lots of them at once. The only issue I have with these is that you can’t use this with a double opt in. So you need to make sure that if you’re using this on one main list, that it’s a single opt in process.
“The danger here is, that navigation links present the visitor with the opportunity to exit the landing page without them converting. Studies from ConversionXL suggest that removing navigation links from the middle of the funnel landing pages seeing 16% and 28% lift in conversions, while top of the funnel landing pages are seeing an insignificant 0-4% increase in conversion rates.
With Clickfunnels, it is easy to create a marketing and sales funnel from the ground up as it incorporates all the core elements needed to have a functional and effective sales funnel. Traditional online funneling means you need to deal with website hosting, landing pages, email autoresponders, and more and have them all work in unison. It’s all hard work but traditional sales funnels are time intensive and very expensive.
Include more than one call to action (CTA) on your website. Chances are that your website visitors will be at different stages of the customer journey. Some might be ready to call or email while others might be researching. Make sure to include offers like free eBooks or whitepapers to capture names and email addresses for those who aren't quite ready to talk to your sales team.
Let’s say at the top of the funnel you included a place to sign up for a newsletter (and that included a free guide or audio from you when the register) but now weeks have passed and you haven’t sent a single newsletter. Well, friends, you’re dropping the ball. The middle of the funnel is where your customers latch on and get comfortable with you—so don’t let them go! This is where they should understand who you are and why they should invest their time in you.
This is likewise a great time to discuss that ClickFunnels provides really valuable and understandable training video clips when you initially sign up. I highly recommend experiencing those because they promptly enable you to utilize the device at its full capability, and also you’ll have much more enjoyable messing around. Where Do Clickfunnels Advertise Funnels
Since, in this example, my main business is booking travel, my ultimate goal is to convert newsletter subscribers into travel bookings. But if I develop a more sophisticated sales funnel, I can start to segment my list and target my marketing even more carefully to my “hot leads” and my most active subscribers. This way, I can begin to learn more about my list to offer well targeted new products and services.
The first stage in setting up sales funnel reporting is to understand your sales process fully (perhaps using a technique like flowcharting). While sales processes are often quite similar from company-to-company, there can be points of difference depending, for example, on the size of the order and the consequences to the client of making the wrong purchase decision.
Great article Matt! I have a product-based business (skincare to be precise) and I’ve been doing a lot of research on sales funnels over the past few days but only ever come across examples for service-based businesses and struggle to apply those to my business. I do offer a free skincare guide at opt in but can’t think of anything else for the follow up emails to create trust as well as a limited time offer. Would you have any suggestions?
