At the top of the funnel, no one knows who you are — sure, maybe your mom and a few potential customers know you, but the point of this stage is to get your name out there. You want to create buzz around your product or simply credibility around your brand. This is where you want to spend some time thinking about your personal brand. I’ve helped countless entrepreneurs go from bland to brand on the Internet, and let me tell you, it’s a game of followers, social media influence, and massive online publishing (be it articles like this one and otherwise). Some have even brought on our publicist as a way to get TV placements.
Landing page optimization (LPO) is one part of a broader Internet marketing process called conversion optimization, or conversion rate optimization (CRO), with the goal of improving the percentage of visitors to the website that become sales leads and customers. A landing page is a webpage that is displayed when a potential customer clicks an advertisement or a search engine result link. This webpage typically displays content that is a relevant extension of the advertisement or link. LPO aims to provide page content and appearance that makes the webpage more appealing to target audiences.

To be honest, I haven’t really explored LeadPages’ sales page templates a whole lot because I tend to design them myself in WordPress. However, when I created my free Pinterest e-book, I decided to create a sales page-esque landing page, which gave more information about the freebie, much like a sales page would. I also used one of LeadPages’ sales page templates to design it.
However, getting to this stage is no simple feat. It takes an enormous amount of work and effort plus tracking. By implementing sales funnel software, such as the platform built by Brunson, you can definitely cut down the headache, but there's still lots of work to be done. Copy needs to be written, tracking pixels need to be installed and email sequences need to be created. But that's what it takes to succeed.
However, if you're a beginner it's still the way to go because they have drag and drop one click solutions for anybody that is not tech savvy or doesn't know code, that's why ClickFunnels exist. I am personally a customer of the Etison Suite, so if you're an advanced affiliate marketer or direct response marketer, you have an email list that's pretty substantial, you've done online business before or even offline business, local businesses, real estate agents, dentists, lawyers, authors, you name it, Etison Suite or the StartUp Plan is a great option for you if you're wanting to enhance your marketing funnel and your sales funnel conversions online.
In this example, Spotify attracted you to their service through a mix of SEO and brand recognition. Their offer for a free Spotify subscription converted you from an anonymous website visitor into a lead and the email helped close the deal. But it didn't stop there. The high quality of service and social sharing options inspired you to refer friends so the cycle could continue.
Overall: I tried to use it for 6-8 months, I am located in Costa Rica (Central America), and there are a lot of restrictions mainly with currency. It looks like it works fine with the integration of Stripe because you can do upgrades, sidegrades and downgrades, however if I am not mistaken, it only works in USA. In my case, only Paypal works and is very limited.

Full disclosure: IMPACT is a HubSpot partner -- but that's not why they're included here. IMPACT's landing pages have long been a source of design inspiration. I love the simple layout of the page, from the large headline copy and detailed featured image, to the outline that surrounds the form, to the colors and fonts that are very pleasing to the eye.
You gain the prospects interest through an email sequence. You begin to relate stories to them that tie into who you are and how you've arrived to this point in your life. Brunson, in his book, Expert Secrets, calls this the Attractive Character. Are you the reluctant hero whose journey happened almost by mistake, but you feel like you owe it to yourself and the world to convey something of great value?
Sales funnels are important so that you stay focused on carrying out the right sales activities at the right time in the prospect relationship. If you’re in the Awareness phase, you are engaging in prospecting or lead generation activities. If you’re in the Evaluation phase, you are sending your customers quotes or proposals so they can evaluate their options and ultimately make a purchase. Sales funnels serve as reminders of what needs to be done and when.
Workflow automation tools can help you manage prospects through a sales funnel by helping you complete repetitive tasks in your sales process that are triggered by certain actions. For instance, in the Awareness stage, you may want your prospect to feel important after you’ve first met, so you send a “Nice to Meet You” email. You can automate this task in your CRM. Cons: There are some bugs in the software which can make the process of building out a page a bit annoying. For our use case uploading images can be bugged at times, and the membership site part of the process was a bit confusing with saving and naming pages and urls, but overall this is a great tool that does what we needed in empowering our team to do more without needing to learn the nuances of html and css.
The number and name of each stage may vary based on business type and sales process. But what the sales funnel represents is straightforward. You start with a lot of prospects who know your business. Sales reps qualify those prospects, and out of those, only some will proceed to the next stage to have a conversation with you. As sales reps continue to nurture leads towards the close, they trickle down the funnel until you’re left with actual customers.

Hello Mark, I absolutely loved this article. It’s very thorough. I wanted to ask in Step 3 that is “Defining the Criteria for Each Stage” in each sub-step if the customer is not responding to sales call we are sending them back to the previous sub-step. In between each sub-step, can we put one more stage where we are approaching the customer one more time through Email or SMS where in we give them a last chance to move forward and if they don’t reply to it, then we put them back in the previous sub-step?

You can edit the template in any way that you wish; you can move things around with the click of a button, you can do webinars, you can do sales funnels, you can do membership sites. You have a shopping cart and an affiliate platform. Leadpages is like a calculator. It’s awesome in its own way, but in comparison, ClickFunnels is more like an iPhone.

Match the corresponding ad text. Great landing pages use the same keywords from the PPC ad text – the connection should be obvious and the continuity reassures visitors that they’re on the right path. Don’t send someone to a page about camping tents if your ad was about sleeping bags. And don’t send them to a generic page and make them search for the product they were looking for.

That small PDF symbol over the feature image helps set expectations for what format the download will be in. The arrow in front of the subheadline helps further direct your attention to important copy they want visitors to read. Like IMPACT, they also have an auto-checked box to subscribe to their newsletter on their form -- which, if turned into an opt-in check box, is a great way to increase subscribers. All of these small, seemingly insignificant details help bring together a solid, admirable landing page design.

You can change the name to your company name or your product name or say 'hi' to your prospect, whatever it is. The rest of the stuff is very useful. The page description and keywords, very useful in SEO, if you are paying attention to SEO, but most people using ClickFunnels aren't overly concerned with SEO because they're driving traffic with either JV, Joint Venture Partners or affiliate partners who have email lists, or they're driving traffic with Google AdWords or Facebook Ads, something like that.
ClickFunnels is now a fairly mature service developed by Russell Brunson and his team. It’s now been up and running for more than 3 years at the time of this review. As a quick aside, I learned about ClickFunnels through Russell’s new book DotCom Secrets: The Underground Playbook for Growing Your Company Online. If you want to learn how to sell products, then I highly recommend it.

It’s beautiful and stunning so you’ll be able to design even nicer looking landing pages. Pros: Funnels involve many moving parts, pages, and pieces. Having designed these for years myself, I expected Clickfunnels to be another newbie tool, but it's so so much more. You can easily set up funnels for specific markets, tying them together and tracking in a way that's visual (not Kanban, but close) and easy to understand. Instead of complex interfaces, you have an easy step by step way to get things going quickly. As an experienced user, I was impressed by the value this delivers for people regardless of skill set. There's so many smart elements - for example, preview your page and it shows you the version regardless of cache, so you're not stuck emptying your browser. Few years ago this would have cost you thousands to set up individually, and left you needing tech assistance. Clickfunnels eliminates that and makes it so even a beginner can use this tool.

As a software engineer myself, I can tell you that building funnels from an application standpoint takes massive amounts of work. There's a great deal of coding and integration that's required here. From email systems to landing page implementations to credit card processing APIs, and everything in between, so many platforms need to "talk," that it takes the bar too high for the average marketer.
