The sales process is not a straight line. This is why converting a lead to customer often takes its own course, and varies with business. Whether B2B or B2C sales, it’s important for sales reps to understand and visualize a lead’s journey; otherwise, they’re shooting in the dark. This is done by a series of steps which develops into what’s called the sales funnel—a concept that finds its way back to the 1890s.

This post is all about how to make money using affiliate marketing websites. I get questions all the time through my blog, my email list, my fan page...about affiliate marketing. I just wanted to share a quick story with you and also just walk you through the recipe of what it takes to have a six-figure affiliate marketing business because it's not as hard or as complicated as it may seem in your online research.
I wanted to also show you, which by the way, you can delete or archive funnels that you don't want. So, I'm archiving this test funnel immediately. This should take me back to the main page. It does. One of the cool things about ClickFunnels is that you can share funnel. So, quite literally, let's say you want my event application opt-in funnel. I can go to settings and I can grab what we call the share funnel link, which is right here, and I can send that to you and you can import it directly into your account, and it's super easy. Quite literally, click on it and boom, it lets you into your account. And you get all these cool prebuilt features, cuts down on time a whole lot and allows you to concentrate on optimizing instead of always building.
In a recent conversation I had with Perry Belcher, co-founder of Native Commerce Media, he told me that you also need to train your prospects to click on links. For example, you could have them click on a link of what interests them or link them to a blog post or eventually to a product or service that you're selling, but you need to train them to build a habit of clicking on those links from the very beginning.
Reconnaissance is all about scoping out the territory and checking out your competition to see who's leading the charge. Talk to anyone with an entrepreneurial mindset and you'll quickly see they have a vision. Those on the verge of a new project launch continually search for the necessary components to help them realize that vision. Part of that search is envisioning every detail of the end product. It should begin by researching similar product sites. Evaluating both successful and not so successful businesses allows you to take note of what the best of the best are doing. This shortens your learning curve. There's no need to start from scratch when you can learn from those who have already mastered the process.
Have clickable share buttons. Many people are more than happy to post about a recent purchase or share a resource they have found helpful. Adding share buttons increases your chances of getting your content shared across the social space, and great landing pages make generous use of these buttons. It’s also smart to add social buttons to the thank you page, since users will be more likely to share your great offer with others after they’ve signed up themselves. As an added bonus, showing your “likes” and follows can also serve as a word-of-mouth endorsement.
To be honest, I haven’t really explored LeadPages’ sales page templates a whole lot because I tend to design them myself in WordPress. However, when I created my free Pinterest e-book, I decided to create a sales page-esque landing page, which gave more information about the freebie, much like a sales page would. Actionetics is ClickFunnels’ e-mail automation application which is native to ClickFunnels. Producing e-mails and messages are facilitated with the e-mail builder which has a nearly similar characteristic to the funnel builder. Another cool aspect of Actionetics is its Action Funnels function. Action Funnels let you hyper-segment contacts to set off specific actions whether it is internal or external. Internal actions consist of being eliminated to an email list, added to email list, etc. External actions include being able to get email series.
Hello! Great article! I sell organic food products that we have been manufacturing in Maine for 14 years. Our internet business has always done great, but could be phenomenal. I’m new to building funnels, buying ads and marketing them. Would you suggest SamCart or CF for the type of product I offer? Also, I would imagine that once a sales funnel is in place, ads would still need to be made in order to promote them? And if so, do any of the above platforms offer this type of support? Thank you 🙂

But let’s say that you want at least 100 people to purchase from your sales funnel. You can work backwards to see how many people you need at each point along the funnel. If you want 100 sales, you would need 250 people to end up on your landing page (100 divided by 0.40). In order to get 250 people on your landing, your social media ad needs to target 1,250 consumers (250 divided by 0.20).

To be honest, at first I was skeptical and thought he could be a fraud but then I had a read of his book. It was actually really interesting and full of useful advice, also I seen that he’s speaking at Grant Cardone’s 10X seminar (or something like that), I know he’s legit so Russell – and his program – must be too!
When you NURTURE prospects, you give them what they need to grow strong and healthy. Obviously not every prospect will grow into a “Lifetime Customer” regardless of what you do. That’s just the nature of lists, email marketing, and all the rest. Still, it’s so important to remember that a list of 100,000 weak and “under nurtured” prospects will never stand up against a list of just 100 “strong and healthy” prospects.
Landing page optimization (LPO) is one part of a broader Internet marketing process called conversion optimization, or conversion rate optimization (CRO), with the goal of improving the percentage of visitors to the website that become sales leads and customers. A landing page is a webpage that is displayed when a potential customer clicks an advertisement or a search engine result link. This webpage typically displays content that is a relevant extension of the advertisement or link. LPO aims to provide page content and appearance that makes the webpage more appealing to target audiences.
You can configure the lead scoring rules to match your ideal buyer persona by simply adding or subtracting points for the lead property. For example, if your business is purely local, then for a lead to become your customer the minimum criteria is to be within your service area. Add 20 points. If the lead doesn’t belong to an industry you serve, subtract 10 points. In addition to that, you can also customize scores for email, application and web activity. Bring everything together, and you have a list of hot, warm and cold leads in the sales funnel for your sales reps to focus and close more deals faster.
When it comes to Backpack, you are definitely not short of useful marketing features either! Backpack, put simply, is a native application which is used for managing affiliate marketing processes. Backpack allows you to seamlessly integrate affiliate programs into sales funnels, giving you enhanced power and information. With Backpack, you can effectively view your affiliate progress, view your individual affiliate profile, assess your due payments, set up commission plans and tiers, and manage your affiliate funnels.

Cons: The membership area functionality isn't as great as other solutions, but I understand they are focused on being the best funnel software, not the best membership site software. If they upgrade their membership area and email / list marketing features, I would move everything onto clickfunnels. That would be dream, rather than integrating clickfunnels with an email tool and membership tool. I know they're working on improving these solutions and I'm looking forward to this software becoming that much more amazing.

Activity reminders also help you manage prospects through your sales funnel by not letting important sales activities slip through the cracks. Most CRMs come with activity reminders that can help you stay on top things. Pipedrive’s activity reminder and notification features remind you of important prospect-related activities. You can create sales funnel activities and then create reminders or notifications related to those activities.
On functionality, it was a dead heat. I sent an equal amount of paid traffic to each funnel and they both produced many leads. Not an equal amount of leads. But, there are so many variables at play that I cannot say the software was the deciding factor. In the end, this was a fun experiment that fixed my funnel problem and I learned a lot in the process.

Trulia did something very similar to Bills.com with their landing page. It starts with a simple form asking for "an address" (which sounds less creepy than "your address," although that's what they mean). Below this simple form field is a bright orange button that contrasts well with the hero image behind the form, and emphasizes that the estimate will be personalized to your home.

There are two options: pro pricing and free signup. Signing up is as simple as possible. You just need to create a username and password. Once you get in and start using their tools, you’ll have to upgrade. The free account limits the number of forms you can use. When you hit that limit, you’re requested to upgrade. Otherwise your account won’t work.
