You gain the prospects interest through an email sequence. You begin to relate stories to them that tie into who you are and how you've arrived to this point in your life. Brunson, in his book, Expert Secrets, calls this the Attractive Character. Are you the reluctant hero whose journey happened almost by mistake, but you feel like you owe it to yourself and the world to convey something of great value?
Significant improvements can be seen through testing different copy text, form layouts, landing page images and background colours. However, not all elements produce the same improvements in conversions, and by looking at the results from different tests, it is possible to identify the elements that consistently tend to produce the greatest increase in conversions.[citation needed]

Whether B2B or B2C sales, it’s important for sales reps to understand and visualize a lead’s journey; otherwise, they’re shooting in the dark. This is done by a series of steps which develops into what’s called the sales funnel—a concept that finds its way back to the 1890s.

Are easy to scan at a quick glance. It’s absolutely vital that you visitors can capture the essence of your offer with a quick glance. It’s estimated that you have about 8 seconds to convince users to stay on your page, so value proposition needs to be quick and convincing. When building a landing page, make it easy to scan by highlighting your main point in the headline while using sub headings and bullet points for added info. Use fonts and colors to indicate information hierarchy. As Jakob Nielsen notes, your page visitors are wild, frantic animals looking for a quick meal, so serve it up fast!
Sales teams are almost always urged to qualify leads before fully pursuing them. Qualifying leads accurately in this stage establishes an effective sales process. Reps use the BANT technique to determine if leads have the budget, need, authority and timeline to purchase. Only leads that meet the qualification criteria become potential opportunities and trickle down. Pushing leads without proper qualification into the sales funnel will clog your sales cycle, and won’t necessarily lead to revenue.

When a lead enters the CRM, it’s marked “new”. Every lead in this stage is in the top of the funnel. As sales reps interact with leads, they’re subsequently moved to the next stages. Filters and views in the CRM reveals the number of leads at every stage in the sales funnel to help you analyze their progress—how many new leads are in the funnel, how many have engaged with sales reps, how many are in the bottom of the funnel and ready to close, and how many need to be nurtured. This knowledge about your sales funnel becomes an actionable tool allowing you to plan your sales strategies.
Cons: There seems to be a lot of issues with their back end server infrastructure and cache updates. Elements and page orders, etc. do not always update as you expect them to, as well as their server systems have proven to be only about 90% reliable. Not a problem at low traffic volumes, but a huge issue for anyone driving thousands of users per hour to their sites. Support is also not that knowledgable or helpful, though they try their best.

Trulia did something very similar to Bills.com with their landing page. It starts with a simple form asking for "an address" (which sounds less creepy than "your address," although that's what they mean). Below this simple form field is a bright orange button that contrasts well with the hero image behind the form, and emphasizes that the estimate will be personalized to your home.
For example, at the beginning of the sales funnel, prospect interaction is low and the number of prospects is high. This is the awareness stage where you do advertising or another form of low-cost, low-touch, broad outreach. The next stages have fewer people in them and require activities that take more time and attention. This is where you’d send emails, make phone calls, or invite qualified interested prospects to a webinar to learn more about your offerings.
Become an authority in your industry and/or region. If you're known far and wide for being an industry expert, you'll have prospects seeking you out rather than the other way around. Consider planning lunch and learn sessions or organizing webinars on a regular basis. As your brand recognition grows, you may even attract inbound links to your site which will benefit your SEO.

Interior design books will often suggest different colors for various rooms and moods – energizing red for a dining room to inspire dynamic conversation, yellow for a cheerful, relaxed kitchen. This same color theory should be implemented into your site design. Many marketers claim that certain button colors like green or red increase landing page conversions, but ultimately you want to focus on the contrast of the button color in relation to your background color. Paul Olyslager has a nice guide on CTA buttons worth checking out. Test various colors, placements, and sizes to see what works!
People not in your market — Learn how appealing and comprehensible your copy is to those who aren't familiar with your market or product. Do you give them enough context to want to know more? This will help cover the common problem where your site over-assumes base-level knowledge on behalf of your audience. This is important because there may be a lot of people on the edge of your market who'd become customers if they merely better understood why they should be.
Using activity schedulers is another way to manage prospects through a sales funnel. Activity schedulers allow you to schedule sales activities and incorporate them into your calendar. Doing this helps you focus on prospect engagement activities that are most likely to move them through the sales cycle. They are also a tool to help remember to carry out these activities.

“Unfortunately, it then leads into a long, text heavy section all about the founder, with no value to the reader, and then flows into a very long list of goals and milestones, very few of which provide any value to the reader. There are a few good social proof pieces, but most of them are simply ‘me me me’. It reads more like a CV or an investor deck than a landing page for prospects.
Then you have a thank you page. This shows your appreciation for your customer, while also encouraging a deeper relationship with your business. For example, someone gave you their email on the Leadbox™ in exchange for a free eBook. You can now have a page that thanks them for signing up, gives them the eBook, and encourages them to purchase the associated workbook that enhances their eBook purchase. Watch Hubspot’s tutorial to create a thank you page that nurtures leads.
Click Funnels has a basic email auto-responder in place. So, let’s say someone signed up for a webinar, it can do email sequences and some cool smart triggering so that if someone leaves early, they’ll get a different email sequence and things like that. If you want to do broadcasts and things like that, however, you will need an auto-responder. Russell recommends AWeber or GetResponse. That’s the only tool you should need on top of Click Funnels.

LeadPages is *not* the same thing as your email marketing software, such as Mailchimp, ConvertKit, or Infusionsoft. LeadPages helps you get more subscribers, but does not allow you to send regular emails to your list. So, LeadPages can be used to grow your email list and then you can use another service to communicate with that list. Make sense? In that case, why would someone want to use LeadPages? Because they offer tons of templates to help you make high-converting landing pages and allow you to easily send content upgrades.
“It’s clear that the goal on this page is to get someone to leave their email address, but there is a lot to distract them, the very first link is to ‘Powered by SumoMe’ at the very top of the page, the social share icons are an overlay that appears after page load. You need to test all these, how many people click these, how many social shares do you get from the share widget, how valuable is the evidence that many people have shared the page – is it worth the distraction. How many people click SumoMe and don’t complete the form – testing will tell you all of this.
“There’s more bad than good about this page unfortunately. As soon as you load it, you have a clear headline, which leads into a clear description, and a call to action. Great. However, the video lacks subtitles, and there’s no way to see how long it is. It’s not a particularly exciting and engaging video, it doesn’t tell me too much about what I’ll get, it’s more about them.

Pinterest’s approach is different in that they don’t spend much time explaining what Pinterest is, since they can assume most people have already heard of them. Instead, a different example of Pinterest’s value is shown with each visit to the site, with a broader explanation of Pinterest (find and save all the things that inspire you) that sits below the main headline. What is Pinterest doing right here?
This metric denotes the time it takes to convert a lead from the first contact to purchase. In other words, it tells you how long a sales rep spends to close an opportunity. Drilling into this critical metric reveals the effectiveness of your sales team, and helps you identify any barriers in your sales process. After all, the shorter the sales cycle length, the faster your revenue stream.
Include more than one call to action (CTA) on your website. Chances are that your website visitors will be at different stages of the customer journey. Some might be ready to call or email while others might be researching. Make sure to include offers like free eBooks or whitepapers to capture names and email addresses for those who aren't quite ready to talk to your sales team.

We could improve this further with the usage of ‘we’ to mean both the user and ConvertKit by about halfway through the page. It is a subtle reassurance that we are here for you and the user will feel the reassurance whether they are aware of it or not.”


Of course, the address itself won't be enough to estimate the value of a home. It just denotes the home's neighborhood. That's why the next page follows with more questions about the property itself, like number of beds and baths. Below, you see the copy "Tell us where to send the report" -- with a disclaimer that, by entering this information, you're agreeing to connect with a real estate agent. This is a great example of a company giving value to their visitors from the get-go, while setting visitors' expectations about what will happen as a result.

There are two options: pro pricing and free signup. Signing up is as simple as possible. You just need to create a username and password. Once you get in and start using their tools, you’ll have to upgrade. The free account limits the number of forms you can use. When you hit that limit, you’re requested to upgrade. Otherwise your account won’t work.
