Sometimes, when you’re stumped about why your sales funnel isn’t converting the optimal amount of customers, it helps to look at examples. We’ve revisited more than 10 companies that have strong sales funnels to see what changes they’ve made over the years. We’ve also added several brand new sales funnel examples and we plan to add more in the future.
Obtaining consent for tracking cookies is not a requirement of GDPR but rather the ePrivacy Directive. Cookie consent is a current topic for ePrivacy Regulation, likely to replace the Directive next year, requiring all browsers to regulate cookie consent rather than individual websites. To be honest, I haven’t really explored LeadPages’ sales page templates a whole lot because I tend to design them myself in WordPress. However, when I created my free Pinterest e-book, I decided to create a sales page-esque landing page, which gave more information about the freebie, much like a sales page would. It works because it’s simple. The CTA is clear. The design is trustworthy. In addition, the visibility of the signup button remains across all the pages, both at the bottom and the top of the landing pages. That’s a best practice. We can’t stress this enough—the biggest challenge for a sales rep is to be able to identify qualified sales leads. Experienced sales reps probably know how to qualify their leads over time, and therefore effectively work on the right opportunities. But for the rest of them, this is still a burning issue. The struggle to pick out qualified leads in the funnel forces sales reps to chase them all. The result—getting nowhere.
Take it one step further and break your marketing improvements down into stages. Perhaps your first stage of improvements is to enhance the conversion path on your website by offering a free eBook or free consultation to your site visitors. Once you feel confident that you can capture lead information, you might be ready to invest in additional marketing efforts to attract new visitors to your site.
A sales funnel reflects the prospect’s journey or path that takes them from awareness to customer. It encompasses actions you take to create this journey or experience. Cons: My dislikes are more nit picky than complaints; setup of URLs can involve 2 separate screens, which makes it a little confusing at first. It is template driven and some of these are very Internet Marketing centric, so the look and style may not be a fit, but of course you can adapt and make these your own. A broader selection of templates will help, but they do have a community of developers adding to it daily, so this is likely a short term problem.

At the end of the day, Clickfunnels is kinda like Sales Funnels for Dummies (not literally dummies, hopefully you’re all picking up my reference here). You don’t have to hire anyone to create one for you (though you certainly can) and you don’t have to be tech-savvy — you just start with one of their pre-created free templates, and then it’s drag and drop from there. Easy-peasy.
Anyone can learn how to make a basic WordPress site without coding but if you need anything more elaborate or extensive for your business, it can get quite tricky. WordPress offers thousands of plugins for a reason, with thousands of themes to choose from before that. If you are a new business owner, never had an online presence, you should probably consult with a design team first (which could cost you).
This is a great addition which Leadpages and ClickFunnels both offer to all their accounts. It makes lead magnets super easy to use and works a charm when you are using lots of them at once. The only issue I have with these is that you can’t use this with a double opt in. So you need to make sure that if you’re using this on one main list, that it’s a single opt in process.
The reason I call this the ideal scenario is because it assumes that you found Spotify from your Google search for "streaming music." In reality, Spotify worked to attract you to their service through YouTube ads, social media advertising, and other marketing channels. After all these efforts, the Google search was just the last piece that pushed you over the edge.
Creating your own landing page can be a challenge. Because they're so conversion-focused, getting something wrong is super easy. My recommendation is to look into the many landing page template providers out there - something that's already designed by UX experts and professional designers. A good landing page builder (like Wishpond) makes something which can be overwhelming and complicated quick and easy.
ClickFunnels has earned a reputation in recent years as an excellent marketing tool, and its popularity only continues to grow. The advantage of ClickFunnels is that it comes equipped with everything a marketing expert could ever require, while new features and integrations are continually being released, making the system even stronger over time. It’s essentially a one-stop shop for marketers!
Leadpages provides HTML5 templates for contact pages, webinar pages, sales lead and other types of landing pages that customers use to improve leads and get better conversions. The service runs on Google App Engine and uses technology such as Big Table to analyze the landing page data. Unlike competitors that use WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get), Leadpages does not have to translate into HTML. Instead the HTML pages are already made, which allows for the data to be decoupled and analyzed in the Google cloud stack. The pages are optimized for any mobile device.
Or, are you a leader, an adventurer or an evangelist? How you position yourself is entirely up to you, but your message must be consistent throughout your entire "pitch" and it needs to be steeped in the truth. Your backstory, and just how you convey that through parables, character flaws and polarity, has much to do with just how well you can "hook" in your prospects to create a mass movement.
Ease of Use You’ll have to learn a bit about online funnels in general, but software is easy to learn, there are a lot of resources to help you out. Great for non-coders, or non-techies. You will have to invest some serious time to learning how to use WordPress if you are a novice.You might also have to hire web designers depending on the type or function of your website.
Cons: There seems to be a lot of issues with their back end server infrastructure and cache updates. Elements and page orders, etc. do not always update as you expect them to, as well as their server systems have proven to be only about 90% reliable. Not a problem at low traffic volumes, but a huge issue for anyone driving thousands of users per hour to their sites. Support is also not that knowledgable or helpful, though they try their best.
“Unfortunately, it then leads into a long, text heavy section all about the founder, with no value to the reader, and then flows into a very long list of goals and milestones, very few of which provide any value to the reader. There are a few good social proof pieces, but most of them are simply ‘me me me’. It reads more like a CV or an investor deck than a landing page for prospects.
Prospecting and marketing are all the things you do to get people into the first of your sales funnel stages. Note that stages are broken into two or more steps wherever possible. A demo could be called a single stage, but in real life it involves a lot of things: contacting the customer, sending reminders, doing the demo, and then following up. Whatever your own sales stages look like, the support you need in managing them will be the same.
