Since, in this example, my main business is booking travel, my ultimate goal is to convert newsletter subscribers into travel bookings. But if I develop a more sophisticated sales funnel, I can start to segment my list and target my marketing even more carefully to my “hot leads” and my most active subscribers. This way, I can begin to learn more about my list to offer well targeted new products and services.

You can then string these Micro Funnels together to a larger sales funnel. With funnel A, you’ve grabbed their email. This gives you the traffic for Funnel B, where you’re asking for a deeper investment of time and money. This then gives you an audience of customers who have already shown interest in your brand, so you can upsell for your main product with funnel C.

But let’s say that you want at least 100 people to purchase from your sales funnel. You can work backwards to see how many people you need at each point along the funnel. If you want 100 sales, you would need 250 people to end up on your landing page (100 divided by 0.40). Some CRMs have the capability to capture leads who visit your website, submit a form, email your company, etc. So it’s easier for sales reps to start working with leads instead of wasting time on data entry. CRM can also segment leads based on predefined criteria and assign them to the right sales reps.
If your landing page is tied to an email campaign, make sure that the landing page echoes the look and feel of the email. If the designs of the two are wildly different, your landing page visitors may wonder if they’ve ended up in the right place. The easiest way to do this is to carry over fonts, images, and colors from your email to your landing page.

Not quite. Double opt-in is a function offered by most third-party email service providers (ESP) and enables marketers to send an email after a visitor has signed up, inviting the visitor to confirm his/her email address and consent to receive further email communications. Under the terms of the GDPR, double opt-in is generally not an acceptable means of obtaining active consent. Because exceptions to this rule do exist in certain cases, we recommend you first seek legal counsel to help craft the necessary compliance statements necessary to deploy double opt-ins.
If you try to opt-in with the same information to get another video, they ask you to sign up again. I believe that is their process. Like I said, that creates some friction. Yes, you can enter a fake email, but, if you believe in the quality of the content (and it is really good content; Andrew is one of the best interviewers on the Internet), you won’t.
