The purpose of the transactional landing page is to persuade a visitor to take action by completing a transaction. This is accomplished by providing a form that needs to be filled out. The visitor information is obtained in order to add the visitor’s email address to a mailing list as a prospect. An email campaign can then be developed based on responses to transactional landing pages. The goal is to capture as much information about the visitor as possible. The ultimate goal is to convert the visitor into a customer.
As your sales reps qualify leads and identify opportunities, they’ll create an opportunity, aka deal in the CRM. Sales managers want to know the value of each deal and total deals by stage to prioritize the team’s efforts on high-value deals. In addition to this data being available in the CRM’s visual sales pipeline, you can also create detailed reports to further analyze deals, and add them to a dashboard to actively monitor their progress.
To use with social media advertising. If you’re using Facebook ads, then one of the best things you can do is send viewers to a landing page, rather than to a blog post, or worst of all, a straight up sales page. Sending them to a landing page means that they only have ONE choice: to subscribe or leave. There are no other distractions to keep them from opting in, so if they like your offer, they’ll subscribe. If you are selling something, then you can then put them in an email sequence to pitch your product to them. See how that works?
If you're wondering what a sales funnel is, simply imagine a real-world funnel. At the top of that funnel, some substance is poured in, which filters down towards one finite destination. In sales, something similar occurs. At the top, lots of visitors arrive who may enter your funnel. However, unlike the real-world funnel, not all who enter the sales funnel will reemerge out from the other end.
Then of course, when you're done you hit save and you exit. And opt-in funnels always have thank you pages, so that when people do opt-in the next page sets expectations, gives instruction, allows them to download the resource that you promised them. So, you can provide buttons, images. Inside the buttons you've always got a opportunity to provide a downloadable URL, which also you can host inside of ClickFunnels via your digital assets menu. And the digital assets menu is, of course, inside your account menu here. So much flexibility, so much power inside of ClickFunnels. It's really outrageous.
Corporations and businesses are all looking for organic growth, to increase market share, effectively deal with low price competitors, increase closing averages, and retain top talent (SAP study shows that cost of losing your top sales person is 700K). The key is to do all this within a process that can be repeated and held accountable from the any position of the sales organization. The Sales Funnel can help you achieve these goals. Hello Mark, I absolutely loved this article. It’s very thorough. I wanted to ask in Step 3 that is “Defining the Criteria for Each Stage” in each sub-step if the customer is not responding to sales call we are sending them back to the previous sub-step. In between each sub-step, can we put one more stage where we are approaching the customer one more time through Email or SMS where in we give them a last chance to move forward and if they don’t reply to it, then we put them back in the previous sub-step?
Cons: The membership area functionality isn't as great as other solutions, but I understand they are focused on being the best funnel software, not the best membership site software. If they upgrade their membership area and email / list marketing features, I would move everything onto clickfunnels. That would be dream, rather than integrating clickfunnels with an email tool and membership tool. I know they're working on improving these solutions and I'm looking forward to this software becoming that much more amazing.
You also have your email integration for your email service provider of choice. That's where all of this lives. For instance, I can choose my MailChimp account here or my Actionetics account, again, that's part of the Etison Suite that I was mentioning. I have the Etison Suite for everything that I do. And then the way the screen or the pages are constructed are in three or four, technically, but really three different ways. You've got sections, which, if you see my mouse hovering here, you can see the light, see phone green, these are the sections. Then you have rows, which are the blue that you see here, and you've got elements inside of rows and they're the orange elements.
It’s easily integrated with a custom domain, so you can set up your landing pages, membership site and/or sales funnels on your own website, or a custom domain. It has a plugin that allows you to integrate it with WordPress as well, although you can’t take payments on your own WordPress site if you charge your customers for services, as they have their own set of SSL requirements when taking payments. You can also start your funnel on your website, and host the next steps of the funnel where payments are taken on the default platform for ClickFunnels.
I just wanted to make that clear so that's all out in front and on the table. I'll get to that in a minute, but first I wanted to add some value and show you around ClickFunnels, but specifically a lot of people ask me, "Hey Josh, is this solution really worth it?" My question really back is, "How much do you really have to lose?" First of all, they offer a 14 day trial, plus, even if you paid for one or two months, the $97 a month plan, which is their StartUp Plan here, and it's plenty for those of you who are just now building sales funnels or you maybe you have a lead pages or optimized press or Instapage and you just want a little bit more horse power, ClickFunnels is the way to go.
Now most importantly, this introduces a marketplace of landing pages for LeadPages customers where consumers will be able to purchase pages off other members (100% commissions are given to members). This is going to the largest pool of landing pages with a simple editor interface. This will also lead to 3rd party websites like LeadPages Ninjas and PSDtoLP to start designing + programming pages into LeadPages for customers who want to start making some revenue in the marketplace.
Hi Willie. You make some very good points, and yes they are not exactly the same as ClickFunnels is capable of doing much more. I just put LeadPages (and Samcart) in there because they are both popular and there is some overlap with ClickFunnels (lead generation & checkout pages). So I just wanted to put them in for comparison purposes for people who might want just those specific capabilities, and not the whole kitchen sink that ClickFunnels provides.
When I first wrote this article in 2011, I mentioned how the marketing copy for Crazy Egg’s heat-mapping feature could have been stronger by better explaining how the tool helps customers to increase conversions. While this information is clearer now thanks to the detailed visuals and simple copy layout that allows the reader to skim and scan — it could be better by explaining a bit more.
